“Doesn’t make him a bad captain” Clive Lloyd backs Virat Kohli after failed to win World Cup as Captain

Clive Lloyd supports Virat Kohli T20 World Cup 2021

Former West Indies cricketer and legend, Clive Lloyd came out in support of former Indian T20 captain Virat Kohli after the Indian cricket team failed to progress to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021 and not able to win any major trophies.

Clive Lloyd, who has won the Cricket World Cup twice with the West Indies cricket team, came out in support of the former Indian cricket team’s T20 captain Virat Kohli. Kohli has received a lot of criticism for not winning any major trophies as India’s T20 captain and India bowed out of the T20 World Cup 2021 from the Super 12 round, which means, Virat Kohli’s T20 captaincy ends in a bit of a forgettable moment.

Clive Lloyd backs Virat Kohli

While speaking to News9, Clive Lloyd backed Virat Kohli and remarked him as a tremendous player, irrespective of his current form. He stated that Kohli has done extremely well for India, and though he hasn’t won any World Cup or major trophies, that doesn’t make him a bad captain.

He further added that Virat Kohli has been a tremendous servant to Indian cricket team and will continue to serve India for the years to come. He continued that even if people are talking about his recent form, but he believes that best of Virat Kohli is yet to come.

Kohli is one of greatest ever captain for the Indian cricket team in the T20 International. The Delhi born batsman stepped down as India’s T20 captain following the 9 wicket victory over Namibia in India’s last T20 World Cup 2021 match. Kohli ended his run having captained India in 50 T20 International matches, of which India won 32 matches. Rohit Sharma has been named India’s next T20 International captain.

India vs New Zealand T20 Series

Cricket action continues for India as they are now set to take on New Zealand in a home series later this month. India will play 3 T20I’s and 2 Test matches against the visitors. The 3 T20I’s will be played on the 17th, 19th and 21st November.
