“He will be with us” – CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan clarify Ambati Rayudu retirement post

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Ambati Rayudu shocked every Chennai fans when he took to the social media to announce his retirement from the Indian Premier League, later to be deleted a few minutes after.

Ambati Rayudu is a very crucial member of the Chennai Super Kings setup, playing a vital role in the middle-order for CSK, taking them out of all the troubles for the last several years.

The 36-years-old has played for two franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League, for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, two of the most successful franchises ever in history of the competition.

Rayudu has been playing for the Chennai Super Kings for the last 4 years, joining them in the year 2018 after featuring for Mumbai Indians from 2010 till 2017. But the veteran shocked everyone with his retirement post earlier today on social media, but also deleted the post a minutes later.

Clarifying that, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan today confirmed that Rayudu is not retiring and he maybe is unhappy with his performance and posted it on frustration, not giving a clear reason.

“No no he’s not retiring. Maybe he wasn’t happy with his performances and might have put it out. Just a psychological thing, I reckon. He’ll be with us,” said Vishwanathan.

As for Ambati Rayudu, he has played a total of 12 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, and has amassed a total of 271 runs at an average of 27.10, with a highest score of 78 runs.

Chennai Super Kings currently sits 9th in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Points Table with 8 points from 12 matches and already out of the race of top 4. Note that, they are the defending champions, having won the IPL 2021 beating KKR in the final.
