India and Pakistan don’t play any kind of bilateral series any more due to the political tensions between the two governments. They only play in multi-national tournaments. The game between India and Pakistan in the upcoming ODI World Cup will take place on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

But before that, both teams are likely to play two or three ODIs during the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. These two teams are slotted in Group A along with Nepal in the tournament, where they will face each other. Then, it looked quite easy for these two teams to make it to the top four, where they will play another match.

Then, if both teams can advance to the knockout stages, there are chances that they will meet in the final. However, these two archrivals are expected to play their group match on September 2 (Saturday), while the second game between the two teams is expected to take place on September 10 (Sunday).

These two games are likely to take place either in Colombo or Kandy. The first match for Pakistan against Nepal is expected to take place on August 30 or 31. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony will take place on the same day in Multan. Lahore is the second venue for the tournament in Pakistan.

Earlier, former PCB chief Najam Sethi introduced the new hybrid model, which was accepted by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). It saw Pakistan host four games, with the remaining nine matches taking place in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, the official schedule for the Asia Cup is likely to be announced on July 19 (Wednesday).

Notably, the newly appointed PCB management committee chairman, Zaka Ashraf, wasn’t happy with the hybrid model. But later, he said that they respected the decision and proceeded with it.
