Following Gautam Gambhir’s remark on Mohammad Kaif’s views regarding India’s loss in the World Cup final to Australia, David Warner entered the conversation, emphasizing the significance of delivering under pressure. Despite not being favored in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Australia outperformed the formidable Indian team.

India had an impeccable record leading up to the title match, securing victories in 10 matches, including the semi-final against New Zealand. However, their unbeaten streak concluded in the final against Australia. In front of a crowd exceeding 90,000, India was bowled out for 240 after being asked to bat first by Pat Cummins.

David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne showcased exceptional fielding skills, while Cummins’ crucial dismissals of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer in the middle overs tilted the game in Australia’s favor.

Expressing his stance on the matter, Warner stated, “I like MK, issue is it does not matter what’s on paper. At the end of the day you need to perform when it matters. That’s why they call it a final. That’s the day that counts and it can go either way, that’s sports. 2027 here we come,” responding to Kaif’s comment.

Despite Kaif’s assertion that the best team didn’t win, Australia successfully chased down the 241-run target in 43 overs, with Travis Head scoring an impressive 137 off just 120 balls.
