Former Indian cricket team batter Mohammad Kaif gave his opinion on the fantastic batting performances from Chennai Super Kings wicket-keeper MS Dhoni in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni has stepped down as the CSK captain, and he is playing without any additional pressure now.
This thing has had a positive impact on his performance as a batter. Dhoni scored a fifty for the Chennai Super Kings in their first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Then, he smashed 16 runs off six balls against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s show ‘Match Ki Baat’ ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ match against the Punjab Kings tonight, Mohammad Kaif said:
“Dhoni is not finished, he is a finisher. People have said his time his over and this could be his last IPL, but look at how he has batted, remaining not-out in both innings. This year we might see the Dhoni that we knew who used to start hitting boundaries from ball one.”
MS Dhoni has not lost his wicket even one time in IPL 2022 so far
MS Dhoni has batted two times in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League and remained unbeaten on both occasions. The wicket-keeper batter has amassed 66 runs in two innings without getting dismissed even once. It will be interesting to see how he performs tonight when the Chennai Super Kings battle the Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium.
The Chennai Super Kings have lost their first two matches of a new season for the first time in their IPL history. The Ravindra Jadeja-led outfit will be keen to avoid a hat-trick of defeats. The match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST. PBKS have won one and lost one match in IPL 2022 so far.
