Rohit replaces Virat Kohli as India’s ODI skipper

Before the 2021 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli announced that the ICC event will be his last as India’s T20I skipper. He had mentioned that he was looking forward to leading India in ODIs and Tests. However, Virat has now been replaced by Rohit Sharma as the ODI captain also. Ahead of the South Africa Tour, BCCI has made an announcement stating that Rohit Sharma would serve as India’s skipper in the ODI and T20I format henceforth.

Social media has gone into a frenzy after this news. Many people are arguing that Virat enjoys a good record as an ODI captain and replacing him was a bad choice. However, a few pointed out that split captaincy in white-ball cricket was not logical.
