All teams will play nine group matches each, and the top four will advance to the semis. The competition is looking quite tough, as all the teams have a number of match winners that can change the game on their days. However, there will only be one winner in the end.

All the best players are taking part in the tournament, and it will be an eye-catching contest. Meanwhile, it will be pretty difficult to predict which team will win the tournament, and even more difficult will be choosing the player who will end up winning the Player of the Tournament award.

However, veteran Indian keeper Dinesh Karthik, who will be seen doing broadcasting duties during the tournament, has picked two contenders who are likely to win the Player of the Tournament award. In fact, he has picked two players with whom he has played a lot of cricket.

In a Q&A session on Twitter (now X) on Thursday, he was asked by a fan about his choice of player to be the best player in the tournament. Karthik picked two all-rounders as his choices. He picked India’s star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, and Australian star Glenn Maxwell.

Both Hardik and Maxwell are three-dimensional players who are game-changers in all three departments. Hardik has been in great form with both the bat and the ball for India. On the other hand, Maxwell recently made his comeback after an injury in the third and final ODI against India in Rajkot.

He picked up 4/40 with the ball and registered his best bowling figure on his return. These two will be the X-factors for their teams in the coming tournament.
