England registered another comfortable victory over the Netherlands team in the 2nd of the 3 match ODI series to seal the series with 1 match still to go.

The match was reduced to 41 overs a side after rain curtailed a long portion of the match. Batting first, Netherlands managed to put 235 runs in the board, thanks to a brilliant inning from Scot Edwards, who scored valuable 78 runs.

However, even though England lost 4 wickets in chase of the target, it was in the end a very comfortable victory. Both openers Jason Roy and Phillip Salt each scored 70 plus runs before were dismissed. Dawid Malan remained not out for 36 runs, while Moeen Ali played an unbeaten inning of 42 runs. Eoin Morgan and Liam Livingstone failed to contribute big in the team’s victory.

After the match ended, England captain Eoin Morgan attended the press and stated that England have to many players who can challenge for a spot, just like Team India.

Eoin Morgan said, “England, just like India have many players who’ve challenged for different spots in the team. It’s a great time for England cricket.”

With that series win, England will play to complete the clean sweep over the Dutch side. After that, they will face the Indian team in July.
