With that win, India became the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. It was a totally different performance from both teams. India batted first and posted a huge total of 357/8 in the first inning. It was a difficult task for Sri Lanka to chase.

But what happened next was just incredible. Jaspirt Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj became the first opening bowling pair to get a wicket on their first balls in the same match. And then it was Mohammed Shami, who has been tremendous in the three matches he has played so far.

Indian bowlers took ten wickets for just 55 runs in 19.4 overs and registered an unbelievable win margin for India. However, it looked like some former Paksitani cricketers weren’t able to digest India’s incredible performance with the ball. Former test cricketer Hasan Raza from Pakistan went on to accuse the ICC of providing different cricket balls to India, which swing and seam a lot.

On a local Pakistan TV channel, Hasan said, “I believe even the ball is changing. The manner in which the ICC, or perhaps the third umpire, or BCCI, is distributing these balls. These balls ought to be examined, in my opinion.” Hasan believes that the Indian bowlers are getting different balls to bowl with, which seam and swing more.

He also went on to say that BCCI is using his powers regarding umpires decisions, and some DRS decisions have also gone in their favor. Well, it looks a bit funny when such claims are made by some former cricketers. Meanwhile, former Indian test opener Aakash Chopra also commented on it and termed it a ‘comedy show.”
