Team India has been dominant so far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They won all their group matches and continued it in the semi-final as well. India thrashed New Zealand by 70 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to qualify for the finals.

This has been a flawless performance so far, and they have checked all the boxes. But it seems that there are some former Pakistani cricketers who are not able to digest India’s success. As a result, we have seen some controversial statements made by some ex-Pakistani players.

Earlier, Hasan Raza said that Indian bowlers are given different balls that swing and seam more, which is why they are taking wickets and not letting the opposition bat. Now, Sikander Bakht has come up with a different sort of logic and is accusing Rohit Sharma.

He said that Rohit is throwing the toss farther to get the desired outcomes. Notably, India won the toss against New Zealand and batted first, which had a big effect on the game. India posted a record total of 397/4 in the first inning, which was away from New Zealand’s reach.

After India’s win, Sikander, who was live on a local Pakistani news show, said, “At the time of the toss, Rohit Sharma throws the coin far from the range of any opposition captain. Thus, the opposition captain cannot go and cross-check the call.”

Notably, ahead of the IND vs NZ semi-final, there were some reports claiming that the BCCI had changed the pitch to help their spinners. Interestingly, only one wicket was taken by Indian spinners in the entire game, giving away six runs per over.

Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar slammed the trolls and termed them baseless. He also said that if the pitch had helped the spinners, then India would have restricted New Zealand below 200 runs. For India, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored hundreds and helped the team reach a big total. India will face the winner of the second semi-final between Australia and South Africa on November 19.
