"That 10-wicket loss against Pakistan caused a lot of damage to India"- Ex-Pakistan captain's bold claim on India's experimentation policy

The match between India and Pakistan is always full of action and emotions. One of the prime reasons behind this is that both teams don’t play any kind of bilateral series. They only face each other in ICC events and multi-national tournaments. However, the last meeting between the two was a nightmare for the Indian team. They lost to the Babar-led team by 10 wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif believes that Pakistan’s 10-wicket win has done “a lot of damage” to the Indian team. However, both teams will lock horns in the upcoming Asia Cup match on August 28. Then, both teams will start their T20 World Cup campaign by facing each other.

However, prior to these multi-national tournaments, the Men in Blue had adapted an aggressive batting approach. On the other hand, Latif reckons that Team India are still trying to recover from that 10-wicket loss. In a discussion on the YouTube channel, “Caught Behind,” he said that India might not be looking at the T20 World Cup at the moment.

He went on to say that India is thinking one series at a time. That is why they are experimenting so much. Latif added, “Their focus will be on the Asia Cup. The loss against Pakistan caused a lot of damage to the Indian team. So they are trying to recover from it.”

It will not be a wrong statement to say that the clash between arch rivals is always the most awaited clash of any tournament. Furthermore, the ex-Pakistan skipper highlighted that India would like to win the Asia Cup, and if all the players are fit, they are the obvious favorites.

He added that the match between these two teams is always the most important one. Latif stated that the Indian management, team, players, and staff will pay more attention to the match in the Asia Cup. However, he also said that India has always dominated the games between the two in the past, but after losing the last match by 10-wickets will make them go into the upcoming match with full focus.

The former skipper concluded, “The conditions in the UAE suit them. India will give their all in the game against Pakistan.” The Men in Green qualified for the semis in the last T20 World. But they lost to Australia, so they will look to put up a better show in the Asia Cup.
