Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a remarkable display of youthful energy and a testament to the importance of dedicated training and self-belief. Emerging as Kolkata Knight Riders’ latest sensation, the 18-year-old left a lasting impression by smashing a scintillating half-century against the Delhi Capitals in his very first innings, showcasing his fearless approach to batting.

While his debut match was against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he didn’t get a chance to bat, Raghuvanshi made the most of his opportunity in the next game at Visakhapatnam. With a rapid-fire innings of 54 runs off just 27 balls, that included five fours and three sixes, he played a pivotal role in KKR’s formidable total of 272 runs.

Hailing from Delhi but honing his skills in Mumbai under the guidance of KKR coaches Abhishek Nayar and Omkar Salvi, Raghuvanshi is a versatile player known for his left-arm orthodox bowling in addition to his batting prowess. His talent came to the fore during the 2022 U-19 World Cup, where he played a crucial role in India’s title triumph under the leadership of Yash Dhull.

Continuing his stellar performances in domestic cricket, Raghuvanshi amassed an impressive tally of 765 runs in nine matches of the CK Nayudu Trophy. These consistent displays caught the attention of KKR scouts, who acquired him for INR 20 lakh, bringing him into the fold with his childhood coach, Abhishek Nayar.

Meanwhile, after his terrific inning vs Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, youngster had a moment he will cherish as he was interviewed by Harsha Bhogle, talking about his inning. It was a fanboy moment for him as he started the discussion with, “Hi, how are you, excited to speak with you.”
