Many Indian Premier League fans considered David Warner as the heartbeat of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was hard to imagine a Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI without Warner in it. However, because of the left-handed batter’s disappointing performances in IPL 2021, he has been dropped by the team.

During IPL 2021 Phase 1, the Hyderabad team management dropped him as the captain and appointed Kane Williamson as their new skipper. The backroom staff gave one more chance to Warner to prove himself in IPL 2021 Phase 2. However, the Australian batter failed to make an impact again. Hence, SRH dropped him from the playing XI and replaced him with England’s Jason Roy. Jason played a fantastic knock in his first IPL 2021 match. He won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning half-century against Rajasthan Royals.

During Roy’s innings, David Warner posted an Instagram story that received everyone’s attention. Warner uploaded a photo of his TV in his hotel room, where he was watching the 2021 Indian Premier League match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Rajasthan Royals. Fans were surprised to see that Warner did not even come to the ground.

SRH coach Trevor Bayliss reveals why David Warner was in the hotel room

After the match, Sportskeeda asked Trevor Bayliss a question about Warner in the post-match press conference. Responding to that, Bayliss said that three players of the squad were fit but they did not travel to the ground.

“We’ve got a number of guys who stayed behind in the hotel and haven’t even experienced being at the ground. So we want to give all those young guys as much of an experience as we possibly can. So for this game, it was David, Kedar and Nadeem with the three fit guys that weren’t here today,” Bayliss said.
