Former CSK bowler bowls most economical spell in TNPL to guide his team to victory

In match number 25 of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), Chepauk Super Gillies defeated the iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans by a massive margin of 60 runs in a low scoring match where a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) youngster Sai Kishore was the star for the Chepauk side.

Batting first after losing the toss, Chepauk Super Gillies had to bat first. However, he couldn’t perform to their best and could only post a total of 133 runs on the board in their respective 20 overs.

Uthirasamy Sasidev was the highest runs scorer for the Chepauk Super Gillies having scored an unbeaten 45 runs. Ashwin Crist took 3 wickets while Mohan Prasath and S Manigandan both took 2 wickets each.

It will looking a really easy chase for the iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans until they really faced-off the Chepauk bowlers. Chasing the lowly target, Tiruppur Tamizhans got all out for just 73 runs in 19.2 overs.

Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG)’s Sai Kishore was the hero with the ball who bowled the most economical spell in the TNPL, taking 4 wickets for just 2 runs in 4 overs, 3 of which was maiden overs.

Sai Kishore, 25-years-old, was touted for big things and was bought by his home team Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 2020 Auction. However, he didn’t play in any matches for the MS Dhoni led side.

In the end, he was bought by the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He played 5 matches for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 and took 6 wickets from those appearances.

As for the TNPL 2022, with that win for the Chepauk Super Gillies, they are currently in 2nd place in the points table behind Nellai Royal Kings who have 12 points compare to CSG’s 10 points and have also played one extra game than the table toppers. As for iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, they remained in 5th place.
