One of the biggest clashes in the IPL 2024 is all set to take place at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. It will be a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders. More than that, it will be a face-off between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.

This Delhi duo has not shared a great bond with each other. The last time they came up against each other, one of the ugliest IPL interactions took place at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. So, are we in for something similar? However, both cleared up the news about rifts with each other.

But the latest statement by the KKR mentor indicates something else. In a discussion on Star Sports ahead of the highly anticipated RCB vs KKR clash on Friday, Gambhir said that he has always enjoyed beating RCB, even as a player. He went on to say that RCB has not achieved anything yet, but they think they have everything, and he called them a flamboyant team.

Gambhir said, “One team that I wanted to beat every time, probably even in my dreams, was RCB. Probably the second most high-profile team, flamboyant team with the owner and with the squad: Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers. Honestly, they have not won anything; I still thought that they had won everything. That kind of attitude, and I can’t take that.”

Furthermore, Gambhir also spoke about the three best IPL victories for KKR, all of which came against RCB. He indicated the first IPL game where Brendon McCullum smashed 158 not out. Then, he indicated the game when RCB registered the lowest IPL total of 49, which came against KKR.

The third one he mentioned was when KKR made 100 runs in the powerplay against RCB. He concluded, “One thing I would love to have is to again go on the cricket field and beat RCB.” Well, it has certainly created more buzz among the fans, and everyone is waiting for these two teams to come up against each other and perform. Notably, RCB has not won against KKR in Bengaluru since 2015. So can they end that losing streak?
