The Legends League Cricket (LLC 2023) is underway in India and features former cricketers from across the globe coming up. The tournament has reached its business end with only two games left to crown the champion.
Though the players playing in the competition are retired, the intensity of the game is still pretty high. One heated moment was caught in Eliminator match on Wednesday at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. It was the game between the India Capitals and the Gujarat Giants, which ended in a high-scoring thriller.
The moment was caught in the first inning when IC skipper Gautam Gambhir and GG pacer S. Sreesanth were seen having an exchange of words with each other. It happened when Gambhir hit the pacer for a six and four. Then, on the following delivery, which was a dot ball, Sreesanth gave a stare to the batter. Later, both were seen having a heated exchange, and umpires and players had to intervene.

After the incident, Sreesanth ranted at Gambhir and said that the former Indian opener always fights with his teammate for no reason. He said that Gambhir said a few things that can’t be revealed. However, now the former opener posted a cryptic message and tweeted, “Smile when the world is all about attention!”

Though it is not clear who provoked it at the start, it has certainly added a flair to the tournament. The southpaw scored 51 off 30, with seven fours and one six in that game, and his team posted 223/7. Gujarat reached 211, fell short by just 12 runs, and has been eliminated.
Now, the Gambhir-led India Capitals will face the Manipal Tigers in Qualifier 2 on Thursday in Surat. The winner of the game will reach the final and face the Urbanrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.
