The BCCI unveiled the squad for the upcoming South Africa series commencing on December 10, featuring two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs. Notably, a number of players earned their maiden call-ups, and others marked their return, sparking joy among fans, particularly with the comebacks of Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal in the ODI side.

However, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh recently shared his perspective on Yuzvendra Chahal’s exclusion from the three-match T20I series against South Africa.

Harbhajan emphasized Chahal’s T20I prowess and expressed confusion over the decision to include him in ODIs while omitting him from the shortest format, describing it as offering a “lollypop” to the player.

Harbhajan questioned the selection strategy, stating, “We won’t take you in the format where you do well but will take you for other formats. It’s beyond my understanding.”

Meanwhile, in Raipur, Team India sealed the 5 match T20I series beating the Australian team in the 4th match of the series to take a unbeatable 3-1 lead with one more still to be played.

Batting first, riding with the batting abilities of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh, Team India posted 174 runs which eventually turned out to be a difficult batting pitch despite initially looking like a batting paradise.

Chasing the target, Australia kept on losing wickets to Indian spin duo of Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi. In the end, despite efforts from Matthew Wade, Australia could only score 154 runs and lost the match by 20 runs.
