India spinner Harbhajan Singh has provided a suggestion for India’s playing XI for the next encounter. In this article, we take a look at the change in opening combination suggested by Harbhajan Singh for India against New Zealand.
India needs to deliver against the Kiwis
Team India had a terrible start to their T20 WC campaign as they lost the game by ten wickets. It was an unexpected loss for the Indians, who had shown good form in the warm-up games. While the bowlers did not look threatening, India’s early setback with the bat set the tone for the rest of the game. Hence, we could expect a few changes in the playing XI for the potential knock-out game against New Zealand.
Bhajji calls for a change in the XI for India against New Zealand
Harbhajan Singh has opined that Ishan Kishan must feature in the XI against the Kiwis. He suggested that KL Rahul must move to No.4 and Ishan should open the batting.
I think @ishankishan51 should be included in team india as opener and classy batsman @klrahul11 can bat at 4 I think Virat, rohit, KL are the most sorted players in terms playing any kind of role in the team .. My view https://t.co/aFwLjyfnDZ

Bhajji also felt that KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are India’s most sorted batsmen and hence, they can do well in any role. While the reasoning is fine, it needs to be seen if India can take the difficult decision of moving KL out of a position where he has found so much success recently. On the other hand, if Ishan comes into the XI, one of Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya must drop out. Considering the Kiwis have Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner in their line-up, an extra southpaw could actually be helpful for the Indian Team. However, the team will also be wary of making a hasty decision since the loss to Pakistan was only a bad day. India needs to win the game against New Zealand or else they must depend on others for preferable results.
