Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the rest of the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, which is being held in India. Unfortunately, he was unable to recover from his injury that he sustained during a CWC 2023 match against Bangladesh.

In his place, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Prasidh Krishna, a seam bowler, as the replacement player for the all-rounder and will be available for selection in the upcoming match against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Hardik Pandya, who is an integral part of the Indian cricket team’s squad for this World Cup, sustained a left ankle injury during a match against Bangladesh in Pune, which caused him to miss subsequent matches against New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka.

There were glimmer hopes that he would recover in time for the crucial knockout games after receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Hardik Pandya, known for his vital role as a seam-bowling all-rounder, managed to take five wickets in four matches and had a single batting appearance in India’s opening game against Australia in Chennai.

The Indian cricket team is flying high in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, currently sitting at the top of the World Cup 2023 points table with 7 wins in 7 matches. They are the only team who are still unbeaten in the tournament.

The Men in Blue led by captain Rohit Sharma will next take on the 2nd placed team South Africa cricket team in a table toppers match in the match number 37 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on the 5th of November, on the great occasion of Virat Kohli’s birthday, at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
