In the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 stage, India and Sri Lanka went head-to-head. Both the teams played this important match on September 12th at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. Winning this match was a big deal for both teams because the victor would go on to advance to the Asia Cup 2023 final. Meanwhile Hardik Pandya did something when Ishan Kishan got that has angered the Indian fans.
In this match between the two neighbours, the Sri Lankan bowlers made it difficult for the Indian batting lineup to collect runs. Ishan Kishan, who was batting at the end, had a chance to score more runs for India. However, he got out in the 35th over.
After his dismissal, vice-captain of the Indian team Hardik Pandya was on the non-striker’s end, and his reaction to this situation is going viral on social media.
Sri Lankan bowlers did really well against India, putting a lot of pressure on the whole team. During the match, Indian batsmen found it tough to score runs, especially against spin bowling. Wickets fell continuously, and even though Ishan Kishan came in to bat at the fourth position and faced 61 deliveries, he couldn’t help the team much and was out after scoring 33 runs.
Ishan was having a tough time scoring runs and facing many dot balls. He felt the pressure building up. In an effort to relieve that pressure, he attempted a big shot over cover during Asalanka’s over but was caught by Dhananjaya de Silva.
After Ishan was dismissed, captain Hardik Pandya, who was standing at the non-striker’s end, seemed visibly upset. He expressed his frustration by shouting during the live match, which didn’t go well for the Indian fans.
