Harsha Bhogle recently picked his best T20 XI of the year 2021. The year 2021 was full of T20 matches. T20 leagues happened around the world, and the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 happened in the Middle East. T20 fans were satisfied with the level of the cricket they saw this year. For some fans, it was also a overdose as they were so many matches happening at the same time.

Selecting the best T20 XI of the year is the toughest job in 2021, but famous cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle recently selected his team and it featured only one Indian player. Interestingly, the team did not feature the former Indian T20I cricket team captain Virat Kohli and the current Indian T20I cricket team captain Rohit Sharma.

He picked two wicket-keeper batters as his openers. The first one was the right-handed batter from England Jos Buttler and the second one being the right-handed batter from Pakistan Mohammad Rizwan.

“Look at the numbers for Azam and Rizwan. They were scripting their own tale. Look at the strike rate. Both of them around 130. Both of them had a fantastic year because Pakistan had a fantastic bowling side. But I looked at the powerplay strike rates and there I got my tiebreaker,” said Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz.

Harsha Bhogle selected Rashid Khan ahead of Wanindu Hasaranga

The next players on his team were Mitchell Marsh, Moeen Ali, Glenn Maxwell, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. These players are all-rounders who can perform well in any conditions and have done well across the world. Harsha was confused between Rashid Khan and Wanindu Hasaranga, but he went with the former because the batters like to avoid him more. The team completed with Shaheen Afridi, Anrich Nortje and Jasprit Bumrah.
