The Indian cricket team is scheduled to play one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is against the England cricket team in July. The tour will start on July 1 with a one-off Test. Fans expect the Indian cricket team to win the ICC World Test Championship series by 3-1. They already have a 2-1 lead, with one match remaining.

Speaking on Star Sports during the broadcaster’s IPL 2022 coverage, Sunil Gavaskar shared his views on Umran Malik and said that the selectors must consider him because he has got the accuracy now along with his express pace.

“A lot of guys who bowl at that speed tend to spray the ball around but Umran bowls very few wide deliveries. If he can control the wides down the leg side, he will be a tremendous bowler,” said Gavaskar.

Sunil Gavaskar reveals what will make Umran Malik an unplayable bowler

Sunil Gavaskar mentioned that if Umran Malik bowls stump to stump then the fast bowler will be unplayable. Here’s what he added:

“If he bowls wicket-to-wicket, he will be pretty much an unplayable bowler. He should be in that Indian squad for the one-off Test and the ODI series against England.”

The Indian squads for the tour of England will be announced soon. It will be interesting to see if Umran Malik receives his maiden national call-up. He played red-ball cricket for India ‘A’ against South Africa ‘A’, while he was also a net bowler for the Indian cricket team during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
