Generally, in a cricket match, a team has 10 wickets in an innings. In an ODI cricket match, the innings ends if the 50 overs of the team have ended or the team has lost its all wickets. During the India vs Pakistan match, Pakistan lost only eight wickets. Still, India was declared the winner.

The reason behind it is that the team’s fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah had injuries. Shah got injured during the slog overs of the Indian team’s innings. Off-spinner Iftikhar Ahmed had to complete his over. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf took a precautionary off day and missed the reserve day of the contest against India. Iftikhar Ahmed completed his quota of overs as well.

While Iftikhar bowled the overs for Rauf and Shah, he was not allowed to bat instead of them. As a result, the Pakistan cricket team’s innings ended for 128 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

“Very happy at the moment”- Kuldeep Yadav comments on taking 5 out of 8 wickets against Pakistan

The Men in Green lost 8 wickets against India, and five of them were off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav. Speaking with the broadcasters after the match, Kuldeep Yadav reflected on his performance and said:

“Very happy at the moment. Just the consistency from the last one to one and a half years (has worked). I’ve got the rhythm back and am bowling more aggressive so really happy. It’s good to pick five wickets. Whenever I got four wickets, I never thought about picking the fifth one. At that moment I was thinking about bowling a good length and that’s really helping me a lot.”

The Indian team will return to the field tomorrow again in Colombo. They will play against the home team Sri Lanka in Super 4 round.
