As per reports, in the last four months, Pakistan players have not received their salaries. However, the players are surprised that the Pakistan Cricket Board has many sponsorship contracts. Hence, they have reportedly decided to not sport these logos on their jersey unless their problem is solved.
Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, a cricketer reportedly said, “We are willing to represent Pakistan for free, but our question is why we should promote sponsors’ logos that are affiliated with the board. Similarly, we may decline to participate in promotional activities and other events. During the World Cup, we won’t engage in ICC’s commercial promotions and activities either.”
The team must overcome external pressure
It has been a tough few weeks for Pakistan. The team did poorly at the Asia Cup 2023. The campaign finished with injuries to some key players, as well.
