The Lucknow Super Giants are on a two-match winning streak in IPL 2022 at the moment. They have an opportunity to complete their first hat-trick of wins in IPL tonight as they cross swords with the Delhi Capitals team at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. DC have won one and lost one game in the new season so far. Manish Pandey is not playing tonight for LSG.

While the Lucknow Super Giants emerged victorious in their last two matches, captain KL Rahul informed at the toss that they had made one change to the playing XI. IPL’s first-ever Indian centurion Manish Pandey made way for Krishnappa Gowtham in the team.

While Rahul did not give any particular explanation for the change, there could be three probable reasons for the change. First could obviously be a slight niggle which Manish might have picked up before the match. Or else, the team would have wanted to play an extra bowling option.

Another reason could be the disappointing show from Manish in IPL 2022. In the first three matches of the season, the right-handed batter looked out of form. He returned with scores of 6, 5 and 11 in the opening three games of LSG team.

For how long will you stick with Manish Pandey? – Aakash Chopra urged LSG to look beyond Pandey in IPL 2022

Earlier today, while previewing the match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Delhi Capitals, former Indian cricket team batter Aakash Chopra urged the team management of LSG to look beyond Pandey because the in-form batters were not getting enough deliveries to face.

“For how long will you stick with Manish Pandey? I think they should look beyond him. Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni can bat up the order. What’s the point of Jason Holder coming in at No. 8 or 9. Krunal Pandya too hardly gets to bat. They have a long batting line-up,” Chopra had said.
