India won the third and final game against the West Indies, which was a series decider, and the visitors won the series 2-1. With this, they continued their dominance over the two-time champion West Indies in 50-over cricket. This was India’s 13th consecutive series win over the Caribbean.
With this, they have won both series on this tour, and both teams will move on to the T20I leg of the tour. After losing the second game, the visitors carried on their decision to rest Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the series decider as well.
But they registered a thumping win by 200 runs, which is the highest margin by any visiting team in West Indies against the hosts. But after the win, during the post-match presentation, Rohit pulled journalist Vimal Kumar to join the Indian team during the win celebration, which was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for the journalist.

Reacting to that memorable moment, Vimal shared his thoughts in a video posted on his YouTube channel and spoke about the “arrogance” remarks on the Indian team. He said that before the game, people from outside were running the agenda.
He said that when the team was posing for the winning photo, Rohit Sharma dragged him into the frame and asked him to join. Vimal said that it was an incredible moment, and he had never thought of such a kind of moment in his entire 23-year career of journalism. Notably, Vimal knows Rohit from his early days and has interviewed the Indian captain a few times earlier as well. He also pointed out that statement by Kapil Dev, who called the Indian team arrogant.
Vimal said, “I don’t know how Kapil Dev said that Team India is arrogant. But speaking from my own experience, this is their humility, this is their modesty.” He stated that the team has shown such love and affection for a normal journalist, which is priceless.
Vimal has been covering and following the Indian cricket team for more than two decades. He also spoke of the high points of his professional life, including the interview with Viv Richards he did in Delhi in 2005.
He also talked about his book launch when he was with MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, which was another big moment in his career. However, then he said that a photo with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma was a wish come true because these are the most lovable cricketers in the modern era.
