Iyer, who faced challenges with the bat during India’s Test series in South Africa, aims to regain form and gear up for the upcoming Test series against England starting on January 25.

Sarfaraz Khan, the middle-order batsman, has made way for Iyer and will join the India A team for the series against England A in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, Mumbai will miss the services of all-rounder Shivam Dube, who has been selected for the national side’s three-match series against Afghanistan starting on January 11.
