Former Indian cricket team off-spinner Harbhajan Singh gave a unique response when asked about his relationship with the former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni. Recently, Harbhajan made a comment that he could have played more international cricket for India. However, the selectors did not give him enough chances.
Harbhajan was also asked about MS Dhoni, where he said that Dhoni had more backing than other Indian cricket team players. Elaborating further on that comment, Harbhajan mentioned in an interview with News18 that his previous quote was misinterpreted. He wanted to say that the likes of him, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and others deserved more chances to play.
According to Harbhajan Singh, the heroes of the 2011 World Cup did not get more chances to play together, and instead, the team management decided to go with some new faces in the 2015 World Cup. He highlighted that the 2011 World Cup heroes were performing well in the IPL and could have contributed more to the success of the Indian cricket team. Most of them have retired from international cricket now.
I have no complaints against MS Dhoni: Harbhajan Singh
After clarifying that his previous quote was misinterpreted, Harbhajan gave details of his relation with Dhoni and said:
“Very nice. I am not married to him! I have no complaints against MS. In fact, he has been a good friend all these years. I have complaint to the BCCI. The selectors of that time didn’t do justice to their roles. They didn’t allow the team to be united.”
Harbhajan concluded by saying that he even confronted the selectors, but he received a response from them that the decisions were not in their hands. He signed off by asking them why were they the selectors of the Indian cricket team then.
