Dinesh Karthik has made a name for himself with his excellent finishing skills in T20 cricket this year. The veteran wicket-keeper batter made a remarkable comeback to the Indian cricket team in 2022 and won the Man of the Match award in the fourth T20I of the ongoing series between the Men in Blue and the South African cricket team.
Karthik came out to bat in a difficult situation. The Indian team was 81/4 at 12.5 overs, when Karthik united forces with Hardik Pandya. The wicket-keeper batter relentlessly destroyed the South African cricket team bowlers and scored a 29-ball 55. He smashed nine boundaries and two maximums in his entertaining knock.
Before the series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team started, former Indian cricket team captain Gautam Gambhir opined that he would have given a chance to Deepak Hooda over Dinesh Karthik. Gambhir, however, added that since the team management has picked Karthik for the first T20I, they should give him enough chances.

“I know people are talking about how can you include him in the team when he’s not going to play. How do you see he’s not going to be able to play? He could be the guy you want. You look at the form and not reputations, names and then you pick the guy. He’ll get you a good 40 in 20 deliveries”
