Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently spoke about the difference in his role for the Gujarat Titans and the national squad. Last month, Hardik made history by leading the Titans to their first-ever IPL trophy in their debut season. GT defeated Rajasthan Royals in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium to clinch the trophy.

10 days after leading Gujarat Titans to the IPL championship, Hardik Pandya donned the Indian cricket team jersey for the first time in 2022. He was one of the 11 players in the match squad for the first T20I against the South African cricket team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The Proteas emerged victorious in that match by seven wickets.

The second match of the five-game T20I series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team will happen tomorrow evening at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Ahead of that fixture, Hardik participated in a candid interview on BCCI.tv, where he shared his views on his role in the Indian cricket team.

This series is a good opportunity to express myself: Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is the vice-captain of the Indian squad for the ongoing T20I series against the South African cricket team. He said that he is neither the skipper nor batting up the order like he did for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022.

The all-rounder added that the ongoing series is a good opportunity for him to express himself in the middle. Here’s what he had to say:

“For me, this series is a good opportunity to express myself. My roles will change here. I won’t be the captain and I won’t be batting higher up the order. This will be back to what I’ve been known for. Playing for the country has always been special, especially after a long break.”
