Following the latest rankings update, Rohit Sharma now holds the sixth position, a significant milestone as he has surpassed his fellow star batsman Virat Kohli, who currently stands at ninth place in the 50-over format.

One of Rohit’s standout moments in this tournament was his breathtaking century against Afghanistan, where he lit up the Arun Jaitley Stadium with an incredible 131 runs off just 84 balls, including 16 boundaries and five towering sixes.

In the subsequent match against traditional rivals Pakistan, Rohit continued to shine with the bat, contributing 86 runs at a brisk strike rate of 136.50, which played a pivotal role in their team’s resounding victory.

Virat Kohli, not to be outdone, has also exhibited sensational form at the crease. In their first match of the tournament against Australia, the batsman played a crucial innings under tremendous pressure, scoring 85 runs. He partnered with KL Rahul in a remarkable 165-run stand when their team faced the daunting task of chasing 200 at Chepauk.

South African opener and wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, who is in his final ODI assignment, kicked off the tournament with a bang, registering back-to-back centuries against Sri Lanka and Australia. These consecutive tons catapulted him three spots higher in the ODI rankings, securing him the coveted third position.

Meanwhile, the star left-arm pacer Trent Boult has enjoyed a successful run in the World Cup, having taken three wickets while maintaining remarkable economy. Boult’s impressive performances have also lifted him up one position, leaving him just behind Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, who currently occupies the top spot in the rankings.
