Former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan recently tagged BCCI on Twitter and gave his advice on how to groom the young Indian fast bowler Umran Malik. Umran gained everyone’s attention with his express pace during the previous IPL season. He made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad after joining the squad as a last-minute replacement in IPL 2021.

While Malik could not take too many wickets, his pace wowed the cricket universe because very few bowlers in India can hit the 150 kmph mark on the speedometer as consistently as Umran has done in the last two seasons. The batters have been caught off guard by his pace. However, since his length and line are not accurate, Umran has conceded too many runs in his IPL career.

Yesterday, in the match between the Gujarat Titans and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Malik stunned ICC T20 World Cup 2021 winner Matthew Wade with his fast bowling and trapped him in front of his stumps. However, he was also smashed for runs by the other GT batters in the same innings.

At that time, Michael Vaughan posted the following tweet from his official Twitter account, asking the BCCI to send him to the UK to play county cricket:

“Umran Malik will play for India very soon … If I was the @BCCI I would be sending him to play some County cricket this summer to help him develop first though #IPL2022.”

Umran Malik has won the Fastest Delivery of the match award 4 times

While Malik is not among the top contenders to win the IPL 2022 Purple Cap, he is the number one name in the race for the Fastest Delivery award.

In all four matches that the Sunrisers Hyderabad have played, Malik has won that award. He has received a prize money of INR 1 lakh in all games.
