These two longstanding rivals hold strong contendership for victory in both tournaments, ensuring that clashes between them will be nothing short of intense and thrilling.

After a hiatus of over four years without an ODI match between India and Pakistan, a remarkable scenario looms. The potential for five encounters in the 50-over format arises if both teams advance to the Asia Cup final and cross paths either in the semi-finals or the ultimate match of the World Cup 2023 to be played in India.

Meanwhile, a recent incident involving Pakistan Cricketer Iftikhar Ahmed and a prominent individual’s account on Twitter serves as an example. The statement attributed to Ahmed, comparing facing India to playing against street children, circulated widely on social media.

Nawaz, a verified user on Twitter with a substantial following of over 20,000, shared an image capturing Iftikhar’s involvement in a Pakistan-India match. Accompanying the image was the purported quote, “Whenever we have a match against India, it feels like we are playing against street children.”

Iftikhar has strongly refuted the post as “fake news,” and following his response, the contentious post has been taken down. He clarified, “I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news and report this individual for spreading hate.”
