Before the series got underway, the veteran batter had clarified that this would be his last series for the New Zealand Test team and the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the New Zealand cricket team and the Netherlands cricket team will be his last ODI series in the Blackcaps jersey.

Ross Taylor has had a long and successful career for the New Zealand cricket team. Thus when he came out to play in the first innings of his last Test match for the New Zealand cricket team at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, the Bangladesh cricket team gave him a guard of honour. Receiving a guard of honour is a very rare thing and not every legend has received it in their career’s last match.
