India slipped to second spot in WTC Cycle after Trinidad draw; Pakistan jumped to top

The second test between India and the West Indies ended in a draw, which has changed the scenario of the World Test Championship. After an unfortunate draw in Trinidad, India slipped to second place in the WTC table.

On the other hand, Pakistan moved to the No. 1 spot. India needed 8 wickets to win, while the West Indies required 289 runs to win. But the rain played spoilsport, and Day 5 was completely washed out. It ended the hopes of the Indians to win the series 2-0 and maintain their position at the top of the WTC table.

Mohammed Siraj won the Man of the Match award for his 5/60 in the first innings. According to the WTC cycle 2023–25, a winner will get 12 points with 100 percent points. But if the game ends in a tie, both teams will get six points each with 50 win percentage points.

However, the game ended in a draw; in that case, both teams have got four points each and a 33.33 winning percentage. Rohit Sharma and his men, who were at the top before the second test, have dropped to second place, while the West Indies are in fifth place.

Pakistan won the first test against Sri Lanka in Galle, and they are on course to win the second game as well. They have firmed their grip in the second game as well. Pakistan is currently at the top with 12 points and a 100 winning percentage.

With one win and a draw, India is second with a 66.67 winning percentage. Australia is third with a 54.17 percentage, while England is fourth with a 29.17 percentage. The West Indies are fifth without a win, but they have added four points with a draw in the second test. South Africa, New Zealand, and Bangladesh have yet to play their first series in the new WTC cycle.
