The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup was originally scheduled to be played last year, but, just like all other sporting events, the Women’s World Cup was also postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament has now been scheduled for 2022 and will kick-off in the month of March.

New Zealand has qualified for the tournament directly as the host of the competition, while the defending champions South Africa, Australia, England and India qualified on the basis of their position in the ICC Women’s Championship 2017-20.

Other than that, the 3 other teams to have qualified for the tournament are Pakistan, West Indies and Bangladesh on the basis of their ICC Women’s Ranking after the qualifier matches were called off due to pandemic’s worse condition.
