The images of Team India’s jersey for the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, have surfaced on social media and are circulating widely. The Asian Games 2023 is set to take place from September 23rd to October 8th.
On Tuesday, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) introduced the official outfit for the Indian team’s ceremony and sports gear.
The playing kit for Team India at the Asian Games is said to draw inspiration from the diverse art forms of the country, paying tribute to India’s unity in diversity. It incorporates elements from various art forms representing each state, and prominently features the word ‘India’ in bold block letters at its center.

With the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup is set to kick off in India on October 5, so for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, India will rely on a less experienced team. Key players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli won’t be part of team. Instead, a bunch of talented young players, many of whom have excelled in the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been included in the squad.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Chennai Super Kings opener, will captain a young team at the Asian Games. He recently took part in a practice session in Pune to get ready for the event and shared a glimpse of it on his Instagram story. Interestingly, this marks the Indian cricket team’s debut appearance in the Asian Games.
