    India named Rohit Sharma as captain and Shikhar Dhawan as vice-captain for the tournament. MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, KL Rahul and Ambati Rayudu were four wicket-keeping options, while Manish Pandey was in the team as a specialist middle-order batter.

    Sharma is the full-time captain of India now, while Dhawan lost his place in the squad last year. Dhoni and Rayudu have retired. Rahul has been a regular member of the squad, while Karthik and Pandey have been dropped from the team.

    All Rounders – Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel

    Hardik Pandya was the lone pace-bowling all-rounder for India, while the squad featured three spin-bowling all-rounders in Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. Pandya and Patel got injured and had to be withdrawn from the competition.

    Pandya made a fantastic comeback in 2022 and is India’s vice-captain white-ball cricket now. Jadeja and Patel continue to be India’s top all-rounders, whereas Jadhav made his return to IPL and domestic cricket earlier this year after a break.

    Bowlers of India in Asia Cup 2018 – Khaleel Ahmed, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, Siddarth Kaul, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shardul Thakur

    India’s pace attack featured Bumrah, Chahar, Kumar, Thakur, Khaleel and Kaul. Thakur had to be withdrawn from the squad, but the other players were a part of the team. Ahmed was the only left-arm pacer. Kuldeep and Chahal formed the spin attack.
