The IPL is arguably the biggest T20 competition, both in terms of monetary value and quality of cricket. That’s why all the mega stars of the cricketing world want to play in the tournament. Not only do they get a big paycheque, but they also end up being a better version of themselves as cricketers.

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is well known for his in-depth knowledge of the game. He has predicted that Australian all-rounder Cameron Green could fetch a huge amount of money at the IPL auction next season. The demand for quality all-rounders is always high due to a lack of supply.

Cameron Green, who debuted against India in ODI and Test cricket, has managed to impress everyone with his all-round skills. Even in the recently concluded three-match ODI series between Australia and New Zealand, he delivered a top-notch performance. He was the leading run scorer in the series with 114 runs and also picked up two wickets.

Reacting to his performance, Ashwin predicted that teams might break the bank to acquire his signature in the next auction unless he pulls out of the lucrative league. He also believes Green has everything needed to be a successful name in the shortest format.

“Just when everyone thought how he would do in the one-day format, he is showing his big-hitting prowess. He is striking them big. He has his sweep shot against the spinners. He has the long hits as well. He is a tall fast bowler too,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

“Some teams (in IPL) might think of using him in the powerplay and might go after him in this year’s auctions unless and until he pulls out. I am sure some team will break the bank for him in this year’s auctions,” he added.

The 23-year-old all-rounder has featured in 14 Tests, 12 ODIs and only one T20I. It remains to be seen if Green will play in the next IPL season or not, and which team will be able to book his services.
