Jadeja takes 3 wicket as Team India dismiss Australia for just 199 runs in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

The Indian cricket team has commenced its ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign with a champion like performance, asserting their dominance over the five times champions Australia in the opening match in Chennai.

After winning the toss, the Australian team captain Pat Cummins opted to bat first. Despite losing the first wicket, Warner and Smith steadied the ship for Australia, but once Ravindra Jadeja was introduced, Australia were left with no answer to the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder’s bowling.

In the end, it was a valiant effort from the Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc, who scored 28 runs from 36 balls but couldn’t help Australia survive a all-out.

It was the Australian cricket team captain Pat Cummins who won the toss and opted to bat first. Australia got an early blow as Jasprit Bumrah got Mitchell Marsh caught in slip for just 5 runs on the board for the Aussies.

Thereafter, both David Warner and Steve Smith gave some solidity to their inning, adding a partnership of 69 runs before Kuldeep Yadav caught bowled Warner. Labuschagne and Smith added a small partnership but soon it was broken up by Ravindra Jadeja, who also dismissed Marnus Labuschagne.

Wicketkeeper Alex Carey also fell pray to Jadeja while Kuldeep Yadav got the wicket of Glenn Maxwell. Jasprit Bumrah got his 2nd of the night when he got the wicket of the Aussie captain Pat Cummins.

Mitchell Starc gave his best to avoid getting Australia all-out. He also contributed with runs as he scored 28 runs from 36 balls but was dismissed on the 3rd ball of the last over.
