Virat Kohli has been battling to play big innings for almost three years. The all-rounder captain, who made India the world champions for the first time, believes that it will be unfair to the Indian team management if they do not give enough opportunities to the players in excellent rhythm to showcase their skills.

Kapil Dev said in an interview that if you can keep Ashwin, the second best bowler in Tests out of the team, then the world number one player can also sit out.

“Yes, now the situation is such that you might be forced to bench Kohli from T20 playing eleven. If world No. 2 bowler Ashwin can be dropped from Test side then (once upon a time) world No. 1 batter can also be dropped,” he said.
