He was with his family on vacation on Koh Samui in Thailand when he spent his last moment and passed away due to a heart attack. Notably, Channel Nine has made a documentary with the title “Warnie” which is scheduled to be telecasted on June 25.

However, Warne’s ex-wife Simone Callahan has raised her concerns over the timing of the release of the mini-series and called it unkind and mean-spirited. Notably, famous Australian actors Alex Williams and Marny Kennedy have relived the roles of Warne and Callahan in this documentary.

In an interaction with the Herald Sun, Callahan expressed her disappointment towards the channel and said that they only committed a small amount of time while preparing the mini-series, and that too without any compassion.

She said, “I haven’t wanted to read into too much about it, but I think it’s a bit unkind and mean-spirited to be honest. He’s just passed, let him rest in peace. And for the kids, I just believe that they’re not showing any compassion at all by putting this out there in such a short amount of time after this has happened.”

Previousely, the elder daughter of the spin legend, Brooke Warne slammed Channel Nine after they made an announcement of the documentary to be made over Warne. He said that it is disrespectful from Channel Nine’s side to make such a series within six months of his passing away.

The Australia legend featured in 145 tests and 194 ODIs during his 15-year international career between 1992 and 2007 and was the first bowler to take 700 test wickets. He ended up with 708 test and 293 ODI wickets.
