In his first game as the Test captain, India earned a massive win. There were a lot of solid individual performances but Rohit also contributed with his fine captaincy. Former India opener Wasim Jaffer also felt that Rohit Sharma’s era as the skipper has started well in Test cricket. He further opined that players are comfortable with Rohit at the helm. Speaking on ESPN Cricinfo, Jaffer said, “He has been doing captaincy in the shorter formats for a long time and I think he is comfortable. A lot of players are comfortable with Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. He gives them a lot of freedom. He got his field placings and bowling changes absolutely spot on.”
Meanwhile, India’s next assignment will be the day-night Test at Bengaluru. The game will start on March 12th. Although India won the game, the management could try out a few changes in the bowling department. Jayant Yadav did not look to be in good form and someone like Kuldeep Yadav could get a chance.
