While Hardik was selected for his power-hitting, Wade felt that his version of a perfect batter must have Pujara’s defence. The rest of the attributes were filled by the Australians.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans picked up Matthew Wade for IPL 2022. He was one of the final signings by the franchise. By the end of the auctions, Titans did not have a reliable wicket-keeper in the squad. Hence, they made the signing of Wriddhiman Saha. Later, they went ahead with Australia’s Wade as the overseas option. The player might either open or play as a finisher in the XI.
