Vaughan playfully reminded Hafeez of being one of the eight victims of Virat Kohli’s bowling in T20 cricket, sharing a photo of Kohli celebrating dismissing Hafeez in a T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan in 2012.

Hafeez had previously described Kohli’s century in the 2023 World Cup as ‘selfish,’ focusing on a particular over in which Kohli pursued his personal milestone at the expense of the team’s needs. Vaughan, on the other hand, defended Kohli’s performance, stating that his ‘anchor role’ was crucial given the challenging pitch conditions at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

This banter follows a recent comment by Hafeez after Ben Stokes’ century in England’s victory over the Netherlands. Vaughan once again emphasized the challenges Kohli faced on a tricky pitch.
