In the opening Test, Australia chose to bat after winning the toss, with David Warner’s stellar Day 1 performance securing his 26th Test century. Warner’s 164, supported by Mitchell Marsh’s 90, allowed the hosts to post a formidable 487 in their first innings.
Despite the challenging situation, Pakistan’s debutant Aamer Jamal impressed by taking six wickets, becoming the 14th Pakistani bowler to achieve a fifer on Test debut.
