“Mohammad Yousuf is a beautiful batter”- World number 1 Marnus Labuschagne heaps praise on former Pakistan batter

World number one Test batter Marnus Labuschagne heaped praise on former Pakistan cricket team batter Mohammad Yousuf ahead of the Australian cricket team’s historic ICC World Test Championship series against the Pakistan cricket team.

Labuschagne is currently on his first tour of Pakistan with the rest of the Australian squad. Since he never played in Pakistan before, Labuschagne decided to watch some videos of the previous matches that happened in Pakistan.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Marnus Labuschagne revealed that in most of the matches Mohammad Yousuf scored a double century. He further described him as a beautiful batter and said:

“In most of those clips, Mohammad Yousuf was scoring double-hundreds. He’s a beautiful batter. Jeez I hadn’t watched him for a while. I had watched him but not heaps. He’s one guy that I’ve seen a lot of now.”

Mohammad Yousuf played 90 matches for the Pakistan Test cricket team

Mohammad Yousuf has retired from all formats of cricket now, but once upon a time, he was an important member of the Pakistan cricket team. He played 90 Test matches and 288 ODI matches for the Men in Green, where he aggregated more than 16,000 international runs.

Shedding some more light on his numbers in Test cricket, Yousuf played 156 Test innings, scoring 7,530 runs at an average of 52.29. He scored 24 centuries, four double hundreds and 33 fifties for the Pakistan cricket team. The right-handed batter smashed close to 1,000 fours in red-ball cricket for Pakistan. It will be interesting to see how Marnus Labuschagne performs in Pakistan.

Apart from Yousuf, the Australian batter also watched Younis Khan’s batting.

“Younis Khan is one that changed his technique a lot when he played in different conditions. He gets quite low and is willing to look ugly to just be effective. Those are the guys,” he added.
