The morning session of the second Test between India and South Africa in Cape Town saw some unbelievable bowling performance from the Indian bowlers. South Africa didn’t have a answer against the Indian bowling and their batters completely surrendered against some exceptional bowling.

It was Mohammed Siraj, who made the ball talk in both directions and went on to register his career-best bowling performances. He took a six-wicket haul in his first spell and achieved some special feat. South Africa got dismissed for just 55 runs in 23.2 overs.

Siraj, who was unplayable at times, took 6/15 in his 9 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar also took two wickets each. This was the thrid fifer for Siraj in the longest format. With this he entered an elite club of bowlers.

The 29-year-old became the first bowler for India to register a test fifer in a single session of a test match since 2011. He is only the second Indian bowler along with Bumrah to take six wickets in a single session. Overall, he is the fifth bowler to join this elite list. Trent Boult (twice), Vernon Philander and Chris Woakes have also done it in Test cricket.

Notbaly, it was the lowest test total for South Africa at home. It was also the lowest total by any team against India in the longest format. Earlier lowest was 62 for New Zealand in 2021 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Team India lost the first match badly.

South Africa thrashed them by an innings and 32 runs to take a 1-0 lead. But the way the Indian bowlers have performed, they will certainly feel confident to win this game. Now, all the responsibility will be on the batters to score some important runs and take a big lead, so they don’t need to bat again.
