Rahul Dravid didn’t need any introduction to the game. He is probably the greatest player to play the game of cricket. Dravid scored the seventh-most runs in international cricket and the third-most for India. He scored runs in every situation, in stadiums, and against every type of bowling attack.

His biggest strength was his determination and ability to soak up pressure. That is why he retired as one of the greats of the game. However, Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan made a bold claim on Tuesday and said that Dravid was not able to read him at all.

In an event held in Mumbai, Murali names the Indian batters who picked him well and scored runs. Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Gautam Gambhir used to read him well, according to Murali. But then he said that Indian head coach Rahul Dravid always found it tough to read him.

Notably, it was the launch event of Muralitharan’s biopic titled ‘800’, where he claimed this. Murali said, “I know a few people, like Rahul Dravid; he is one of the greatest players, but he never read me.”

Sachin Tendulkar was also present at the event, and he also talked about his first meeting with Murali. The former Sri Lankan spinner complimented Sachin for his achievements. He said that there will be only one Sachin, and no one can replace him.

It is very difficult for anyone to make a debut in first-class cricket at 15 and then score a hundred at 16. On the other hand, the Master Blaster also shared his memories with Murali. He recalled the moment when they first met in 1992–93.

Sachin said that Murali worked pretty hard on his “doosra” and practiced it for over 18 months before bowling it in international cricket. He also complimented Murali, saying that he was one of the few bowlers who could have turned the ball on any given surface.
