Former Chennai Super Kings cricketer Ashish Nehra has picked the one current member of the Chennai Super Kings squad who can be the game-changer for the Indian cricket team in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 earlier this month.

There were some big surprises in the squad. But one of the expected names to make the cut to the T20 World Cup squad was the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The southpaw is currently playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. After Jadeja shone for CSK in the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Ashish Nehra felt he can do wonders for the Men in Blue at the upcoming mega event.

“With the ball, too, he was effective. It will become interesting to see whether India include Ravindra Jadeja ahead of them or as a third spinner. I would say that in the situations we have seen till now, he would be the first name on the minds of coach Shastri, captain Kohli and mentor Dhoni when it comes to deciding the XI,” said Nehra on Cricbuzz.

Nehra unsure if Ravindra Jadeja will play on the flatter wickets during the ICC T20 World Cup

While Ashish Nehra stated that Ravindra Jadeja will be the first name to come to the minds of Ravi Shastri, MS Dhoni and Ravi Shastri for the crunch situations, he added that the team management may prefer Rahul Chahar and Varun CV on flatter surfaces.

Nehra concluded by saying that picking Jadeja is a no-brainer for the pitches supporting the spin bowlers, but he was curious to see if the Indian team includes him on flatter pitches because they have five spin options in the squad.
